THIS WEEK IN MAMMOTH - Weeks of January 26- February 8, 2004
www.CityConcierge.com

The snow has started to fall off and on, with 3 inches hitting the ground all over the mountain early this week. It may snow this weekend for one day, and then the warm weather will be back. The snow and warm conditions are very reminiscent of year 2003 when the same front came through. That means that February and President's holiday weekend, we should have a ton of new powder to ski on. There are a few places left for that weekend. Check what's available in town here. City Concierge Central Reservations

For those of you who don't want to make the drive to Mammoth, the City Concierge has put together bus trips leaving from the Los Angeles, and Bay Area. The buses depart after work hours on Friday, cruise up the 395 and arrive in Mammoth around 11:00PM. You can ski all day Saturday and Sunday, and sleep on the way home Sunday night as your arrive back in LA in the late evening. This is as close to shuttle as we can get. The price also includes shared condominium space with other ski lovers. All this for $210.00. This is the perfect way to ski more often and not have to hassle with the drive or finding friends to go with you to share the cost of the condo. And, you will make some cool buddies who really like to ski. Check out the details.

Here is what is happening the next couple of weeks in town. Enjoy!

The Ford Championships of Snowboarding, the second stop of the $300,000 Vans Triple Crown of Snowboarding, makes its way to Mammoth Mountain. Former Olympians Ross Powers, Danny Kass, Kelly Clark, J.J. Thomas, Tommy Czeschin and Daniel Franck are among the big-time riders joining Scotty Arnold, Ben Hinkley, Hana Beaman, Toarh Bright, Hannah Teter and Luke Mitrani as those expected to compete.

The Built Ford Tough Championships consist of three events - Slopestyle,

on difficulty, execution and height. The Built Ford Tough Rail Jam features
riders each taking a stab at pulling off the toughest moves on a specially

the line.

Salomon Pocket Rocket Alpine Ski Salomon Pocket Rocket Alpine Ski
The Salomon Pocket Rocket has made quite a name for itself among today's freeriders. The space-age graphics make you stop and gawk but its performance on the hill is what's most impressive. With tip-waist-tail measurements that dwarf traditional fat skis, and it's typical Salomon soft flex, this ski makes an incredible powder tool and excellent touring ski. Oh yeah, did we mention it has twin tips?
