Surprisingly, this little mountain hideaway also offers a full range of sports outlets, specialty stores and antique shops. You'll find items reflecting Big Bear's colorful history, summer and winter recreation activities as well as the work of local artists.

As a sports Mecca, you won’t be surprised to learn that outfitters offer every imaginable type of gear for outdoor (and indoor) recreation. Many of these outfitters also function as rental facilities, so check with them (or with City Concierge) before you decide to lug a lot of equipment up to the lake.

Bears like sweets, right? Maybe that’s why Big Bear Village is full of candy stores and ice cream parlors that win lip smacking rave reviews. Rustic and handicraft goods are big in Big Bear, and although the store names featuring puns on the word bear make you groan, the Western wear, original clothing items arts, ceramics and crafts will make you smile.
