Big Bear Ski Report
Sunshine rules in Big Bear Lake, about 300 days a year, but that doesn't mean that the snow is slushy, or that skiing at Snow Summit or riding at Bear Mountain has stopped. With the constant dump of snow, snow making, and grooming, the slopes are always prime. You wake up to beautiful corduroy cruiser runs, and challenging terrain park jumps. Both Bear Mountain and Snow Summit publish their daily ski reports. You might want to subscribe to them if you're hard core. We also publish a monthly newsletter if you're more interested in general conditions, event information and of course, our travel specials.

As a reminder, we want to caution you that when it snows, Cal Trans will declare mandatory chain control on all mountain roads. Be smart, bring your chains with you. They are cheapest to buy in Southern California car supply shops, then to get them in Big Bear. No one "rents" chains. Ladies, when mandatory chain control is in force, often times installers will help put them on your cars for a small fee. This is the 24 hour road condition hotline. You will need to enter the roads you will be traveling to get up to the minute information.
