SPORTS BAR GOES HIGH TECH
ADDS AUTOMATED DINING PAGING SERVICE
Mammoth Lakes, California - Grumpy's Sports Bar and Restaurant
announces the addition of their new call ahead paging service and
website. The call ahead service represents the newest technology
available to restauranteers, which makes waiting for a table obsolete.
The service operates by having the customer call in for a table,
and once the customer's cell phone number has been entered into
the system, automatically the customer will be notified on their
cell phone, when their table is ready and waiting.
The new service is made possible through technology provided by
Long Range Paging Systems. This represents two firsts for Grumpy's
according to owner Greg Simas. "We never let customers put
their names on our list before without being here, it was always
first come, first served". Simas continues, "With Mammoth
creating walk streets, we will be able to accommodate more guests,
who can walk from their hotel or condo and get right in. I believe
we will have better success with this than if we just did reservations
the old fashion way."
Additionally, Grumpy's has launched a new website that lists all
the major events happening inside the restaurant. This includes
links to the television schedules so that customers can see which
games will be televised on one of their 35 TVs throughout the venue.
Other areas of the website include a gallery of photos and the menu in both
web and printable formats. Simas commented, "We know
that with so many choices in town, we have to hit the customer when
they are planning their trip, not at the last minute to gain additional
business. When a customer is on vacation, the last thing they want
to have to do is make decisions. We want to be top of mind when
they get here. " The website has a campy mining theme playing
upon the background of Grumpy, an old Yosemite Sam type geezer from
the mining hills of Mammoth. The website was designed and built by the City
Concierge, a marketing company that specializes in the travel and hospitality
industries.
The new website exemplifies the changes in the travel industry
as most travelers turn to the web to help plan trips and find the
services they may need. Vacationers won't have to spend time on
the phone during vacation hours, or searching through sometimes
hard to find local publications while on their trip, when they should
be out having fun.
The launch of the new services at Grumpy's Sports Bar and Restaurant
comes at a time when Mammoth Lakes is revitalizing itself, and is
marketing more heavily than ever. The new Village at Mammoth officially
opens on Thanksgiving weekend, and is one of the many steps the
town is taking to create new attractions that will increase visitation.
With the new Village comes more competition in the dining area,
although Grumpy's remains the only true Sports Bar and remains the
favorite hang out for long time visitors to Mammoth, with billiards,
an arcade for the young 'ens, and sports from all over on TV, all
the time.
