North Lake Tahoe Hotels

From Truckee to Tahoe City and around the lake and over to Incline Village, the hotels in North Tahoe come in all sizes, styles, star ratings and prices. Most locations are near the resort areas or family attractions such as the Truckee river or the beaches on the east shore. Everything is relatively close to each other so you should pick a hotel that is comfortable for you.

If you're playing golf at the Squaw Valley resort or at one of the many courses in Northstar, you may want to stay closer to the course. If you're biking at Northstar, staying in Truckee will put you close to their cute main street downtown so you can have an active nightlife. And if you're going to a music festival or the Shakespeare Festival you want to be near Sand Harbor, Kings Beach or Incline Village.

Often hotels just won't do it for a family especially when you need multiple rooms. Those families choose to have a Lake Tahoe rental vacation home to accommodate their size. This kind of vacation rental is perfect if you would prefer a more spacious and comfortable relaxed atmosphere. Each home is managed by a local company who offers 24/7 service so all your needs area always met. Now isn't that the way travel should be?

We've sorted the hotels by area to make your decisions easy.

Sugar Bowl Resort is closest to the town of Truckee, which has a cool nightlife and classic western architecture. Northstar is also located in the town of Truckee. If you're going to ski Sugar Bowl, you will likely do some days at Boreal as well. Staying in Truckee is ideal when you want to play in this area and the hotels here come in different shapes and sizes to meet all needs. Besides the nightlife in Truckee, you can drive to the Northstar Village, or Tahoe City both which have a plethora of restaurants.

Squaw Valley now owns Alpine Meadows Resort and are located on the west shore closest to Olympic Valley and Tahoe City. Homewood Resort is also located on the west-shore and is popular as it is the only ski resort with a real lake view except for Heavenly Valley.

While hotels are great, you'll find that the Lake Tahoe rental cabins offer a more cozy style.
