Summer Events in Lake Tahoe

The summer is just buzzing with fabulous concerts, celebrity golf events, the Shakespeare festival and more. The Harveys outdoor concert series highlights South Lake Tahoe as is the Hot August Nights car show. The first event is the Renaissance Faire. This year plan your vacation around these showstopper summer events and book your
South Lake Tahoe rentals so you can walk or take a shuttle bus.
Summer starts off with the
20th Anniversary of the
Valhalla Renaissance Faire at Camp Richardson Resort June 2 & 3 and June 9 & 10
Down on the south west side of the lake, close to the Tahoe Keys area you're going to get 2 weekends of fun! Get away from it all and lose yourself in the magic and merriment of a traditional Renaissance faire. You'll meet nobility, pirates, barbarians and beautiful ladies, eat big food and see lots of real renaissance magic. Plan your early summer fishing and hiking getaway weekends, around this one, to take in at least one day.
July starts the
Harveys Tahoe outdoor concert series. Everyone in the San Francisco bay area comes down multiple times for the weekend, just to hit these big headliners. If you're coming as a group, you are better off getting a
South Lake Tahoe luxury rental as it will hold more people and be very comfortable. If you're just a couple or two couples you may want to stay in a
South Lake Tahoe Hotel. Here's the line up on this year's stage.
Chicago & The Doobie Brothers, Friday, July 13th
The Beach Boys - 50th Anniversary Reunion Tour, Sunday, July 15th

Also on South Shore this summer is the annual
American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament July 17 - 22, 2012. With a purse of $600,000 it’s the most prestigious and richest celebrity tournament in golf. The days to attend are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so you can up close and personal with the celebrities and collect your autographs and photos.
If you like classic car shows you will love the 50's oriented
Hot August Nights Car Show South Lake Tahoe: August 3 - 5, 2012
The South Lake Tahoe event compliments and extends the Reno Hot August Nights including daily Show-n-Shines with cash and trophy awards, Poker Walks, a Cool Car Showroom, a Classic Car Auction, automotive exhibits, special night time cruising at South Lake Tahoe, and a Sock Hop with fun free fifties and sixties style live entertainment daily on all of the outdoor stages. You won't want to miss this block party on the south shore. You gotta love it!
If you're looking at a beach vacation, you'll want to check out the beach
rentals in Incline Village. We caution you to book them early as they are walking distance to the beach and they go quickly. Around the corner at the beach in Sand Harbor is
Shakespeare's "The Two Gentlemen of Verona" the headliner for this years Shakespeare festival. It runs continually from July 13 - August 26. It is a family friendly plan and a good introduction to the classics for younger viewers.
In it's 40th season the festival has gorgeous costumes, stunning sets one of the most talented professional acting companies in the West and a live on stage band that provides the ambiance! The story of friends Valentine and Proteus is put to the ultimate test when Proteus forsakes his beloved Julia and competes for the affections of Valentine's love, the strong-willed Silvia. Teaming with high comic scenes and rich, romantic innuendos, it is hilarious.
Also in the the Sand Harbor area, is the Sand Harbor Monday concert series in the scenic outdoor amphitheater on Mondays at 7:30PM.
