Tahoe Vacation Rentals

Summer is here and a wonderful time to take a Tahoe vacation. The weather is warm during the days, you can get a suntan, and the nights are cool with slight breezes coming off the water. Many guests to Lake Tahoe take a week, so they can make it all around the lake and get every activity in on their Tahoe Vacation.

There is so many different kinds of Lake Tahoe lodging with so many different options, it makes sense to book your reservations near the activities you will enjoy most, and certainly in a place that will offer pure comfort during your vacation. All our vacation rentals come complete ready to go, you just add the fun. The hotels are popular when you're moving from place to place, and we have everyone of that takes online reservations listed.

In the north, it is very popular to stay near Truckee, Olympic Valley, Tahoe City, Tahoe Vista or Sand Harbor. You'll find so many things to do clustered around here including mountain biking at Squaw Valley, riding the Truckee river in a raft, playing golf in the high sierra at Northstar, or renting boats, jet skis and playing on the shoreline. A Tahoe cabin rental in the Northstar area, or Tahoe City area will do you fine. If you stay in one of the Gold Bend townhomes in Northstar, you'll also get a recreation center with pool and spa, tennis courts and the Northstar Village at your door steps. You will want to dine locally, but venture out during the day over to Tahoe Donner State Park, or claim some beach for a little R n R. You also will need to venture over to Squaw and ride that unbelievable tram. Bring a bathing suit with you as there is a swimming pool and spa half way up the mountain and at 8,000 feet, you can see everything.

No matter which shore you stay on, you will definitely want to rent a bicycle and go along the bike path. On the south shore, you'll find that the path goes in and out of the several marinas, and each is a haven for beach goers, boat rentals, and you gotta just try the wave runners and jet skis. The majority of the larger casinos are down on south shore so if you like to gamble, or you would like to see the big headline entertainment, you will want to be get South Lake Tahoe rentals. We have them from the Tahoe Keys marina area, into the forest, up the Kingsbury Grade - think views of the lake) or tucked away in the peaceful forest. There are shuttle buses that run up and down Tahoe Blvd., but no matter which end of the lake you stay at, you are never far from anything. You definitely need to bring your camera and go to downtown South Lake Tahoe and ride the Heavenly Valley Gondola up to the mid station. Here you'll have the most spectacular view of the lake, you will ever see.

There are plenty of driving ranges and golf in Heavenly Valley too, such as Edgewood golf course, but instead of planning your vacation around an activity, you may want to plan your Tahoe vacation around our famous Shakespeare Festival which takes place this year in Sand Harbor, over by Incline Village. From either the north or south, Incline Village is a short and beautiful drive. It is a cute village to shop and dine, and if you plan to see the shows, order your tickets a head of time as they do sell out. Music festivals in July and August are also popular. Many are on the west shore midway between north and south. You'll see them advertised everywhere. It is a nice day with a picnic lunch /dinner to sit and listen to the music concerts which are generally outdoors (bring a sweater!).

The largest hotels in Lake Tahoe are just on the border of the city of South Lake Tahoe and Stateline Nevada, which is certainly a funny but descriptive name. We just refer to the whole area though as South Lake Tahoe. Each hotel plans all kinds of different family entertainment, so if your vacation is a bit shorter, check them out for a more "Vegas" experience.
