Visitors coming to Mammoth often fly to nearby Reno Airport or Los Angeles Airport and then drive the rest of the way. Driving from either location is easy as the road is straight. In the winter time, you will need tire chains or 4 wheel drive. You can rent your car online through any number of rental car agencies including Hertz, Alamo, Advantage, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Thrifty and Avis Rent-a-Car companies. Enterprise rent-a car is the only one with an office close to Mammoth.
Rent A Car In Mammoth
If you fly to Mammoth, you may wish to have your own car. Having your own car is very convenient if you are planning on some day trips to see the sites outside of Mammoth. Mammoth however has a fantastic public transportation system and taxi services. so if you're going to stay "in town" you may not need a car at all. Mammoth is a walking town.
