Road Conditions in Mammoth are maintained by two different entities, Cal Trans
who owns the road into Mammoth and up to the Main Lodge, and the Town
of Mammoth Lakes, who maintains everything else. Snow is cleared by both entities. Snow in deep winter
is generally cleared by morning when the snowfall occurs in the evening
hours. As a reminder there is no parking on any streets in Mammoth from
November 1 - April 1 as the snowplows may be working. If you park on
a street you will either get towed, have your car get buried by snow,
or in large snow storms, cars are pushed aside by the snowplows which
is not a pretty sight... No Joke! The plows mean business.
