Musicians
Train - Over the course of 15 years, Train has made its mark on music history with their Grammy-Award-winning song “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)” and chart-topping singles “Meet Virginia” and “Calling All Angels.” Since forming in San Francisco in 1994, the multi-platinum selling band has traveled a long, successful and sometimes arduous journey. Following their 2006 release, For Me, It’s You, the band took a three-year hiatus, and in that time, Train has, for all intents and purposes, experienced an epiphany as a whole. Now, with their fifth album, Save Me San Francisco, Train has channeled their early days, revisiting the roots rock sound that has made the band such a tour de force – and, in turn, the band is united stronger than ever before.
Damon Castillo Band - Combining the talents of Kristian Ducharme (keys), Jennings Jacobsen (drums/vocals), and Larry Kim (saxophone) with Damon Castillo’s prolific songwriting, vocals, and guitar chops, the band creates a sound that is a statement in this day of manufactured music. Each member is a master-musician with a diverse past playing jazz, rock, and soul. Their prowess comes through on every note, dynamically punctuating Damon’s soulful lyrics, at times mournful, and often larger than life. Fans all along the west coast flock to their concerts. The rhythm, melodies and energy of their live performance are utterly intoxicating.
The Akoustic 2 - Don’t ask what type of music The Akoustik 2 plays. The real question is, “What don’t they play?” Rocking out to heavy metal, hard rock, and even disco, these two guys arrange each song in a way you have never imagined. Lead guitarist, Chris Conales is often compared to Al DeMeola, and Tim Reynolds. And Milo has a voice that can do anything. Milo, from northern Georgia, and Chris from southern California, met by chance while working in Yosemite National Park in 1994. Milo’s southern, back home sound and snappy rhythms mesh with Chris’s fresh Southern California sound perfectly. And an enormous song list reflects their years of live performances, creating an act that is witty, lively, fun to watch and listen to.
