Mule Days, Bishop CA
Every year during the Memorial Day Weekend, more than 700 mules compete in 181 events at the Bishop Mule Days Celebration. The festivities are part mule show, part a test of skills, and part Wild West show. Situated on the Tri-County Fairgrounds in Bishop, California, Mule Days has become an international world class event. It's a busy weekend, so to book your hotel rooms in Bishop with plenty of notice. Highlights of the celebration include the Thursday night concert, featuring Country Music stars, a non-motorized parade on Saturday morning, steer roping, and the Packer's Scramble – the wildest, nosiest and funniest event of the weekend. Many people rent Mammoth lodging and then drive down for the day as it is only 45 minutes south of Mammoth so you can take advantage of Mammoth's long season, fishing, skiing, golf, and then get some fun nightlife in Bishop.
There are also barbecues, country dances and an arts & crafts show. All taking place at the foot of the beautiful Eastern Sierra. This Wild West show has 1000's of fans who flock the Mike Boothe Arena to watch the events and visit the exhibits.The fourteen mule shows consist of: Western, youth, English, cattle working, gaited, coon jumping, racing, musical tires, gymkhana, packing, shoeing, chariot racing, team roping and driving. For most competitions, veteran announcers, Bob Tallman and Bob Feist, take the microphone to both educate and entertain crowds.

In addition to competitive events, Mule Days has many other featured events to expand the experience.
