A Mammoth Snow and Lots of It.

Since Monday December 17, nearly 4 feet of snow has fallen on Mammoth Mountain. This has covered all the man made snow with beautfiul fluffy powder. With the snowfall, comes the opening of the long awaited Chair 9 Express, the brand new 6 pack, high speed chair replacing the old, and slowest chair on the mountain. For the newbies, Mammoth Mountain ski resort has 3 base lodges, "Main Lodge", "Canyon Lodge" and "Eagle Lodge". The new developments in town center around either the Eagle Lodge area, or the Mammoth Village area which is in Town and between both Eagle and Canyon. Either way, no matter where you stay, you can ski from one lodge to the other with mostly beginner or intermediate runs.

Mammoth Reservations and New Lodging Choices

Mammoth Mountain has lots of new lodging choices this winter. The recent developments in Mammoth Lakes have brought both condos, townhomes and hotels into the reservation pool. City Concierge is proud to work with most all providers in town. New this year is the Westin Monache, a condo hotel, also new are the spacious "Lodges" Townhomes and the Tallus private residences. The Westin is a "condo-hotel" with just a few rooms now available for booking with more coming as they are completed. It is a full service luxury hotel, but each room is like a condominium. This and other hotels can be booked in our hotel section

The Lodges is also known as "Snowcreek Phase 6". They are large open townhomes on the Snowcreek Golf Course which is about 5 minutes from Eagle Lodge and Chair 15. The Tallus private homes are timeshares, so when an owner doesn't use his time, we have get them. They are 4 and 5 bedroom homes, luxury beyond 5 stars, and each has a private media room, and a Jacuzzi sanctuary. They are worth the money if you want plus, and you have 10-12 people in your group. Snowmobiles for the Fun of it. Varoom.

Yes speeding down the mountain on a Mammoth snowmobile is a lot of fun. This is an activity that should not be missed. You should place your rental orders ahead of time to make sure you get a space since there is a daily limit to the amount of snowmobilers that can hit the trail. With a guide, or without a guide, the snow in your face is awesome.
