In Town
When you stay in the town of Mammoth you can walk to restaurants, nightlife, shops, and you're on the free shuttle routes to get you just about anywhere you need to go. After skiing, being able to stumble out of your hotel for dinner is a really good thing.In town you will find the Mammoth Creek Inn, Sierra Nevada Lodge, Best Western High Sierra, Econolodge, Travelodge, Quality Inn, The M and the Sierra Lodge. These are all similar hotels with the newly redone Sierra Nevad Lodge having a fine restaurant on its premises.

Slopeside
With the convenience of walking to the ski slopes at Canyon Lodge, there is only one place, the Austria Hof. It has a German restaurant and a really fun pub that even locals love to hang out at. Up at the Mammoth Mountain Main Lodge the hotel on the slopes is the Mammoth Mountain Inn. This hotel is typical of ski resort hotels with a restaurant, bar, lobby fireplace and tends to be a good choice for families who want the convenience of being right on the slopes. It is also great for groups as you don't need transportation to get to the slopes so people can come and go as they please. At Chair 15, also known as Little Eagle, the Juniper Springs Lodge sits on the snow. This is a condo hotel. There is no restaurant, but the rooms are rather nice. It is much quieter on this side of the slopes.The Village
Located at the edge of town, with a gondola to the slopes in "The Village you will find The Westin Monache and the Village Lodging. This is not the center of town, but a fine place to stay as the convenience of the shops, restaurants and bars are right below you. How can you go wrong?And all alone, on the outskirts of Mammoth, but next to the cross country trail system is Tamarack Lodge. Tamarack is a collection of cabins some old, some new but with a fantastic restaurant on premises. If you want a true cabin out in the middle of the woods, stay at Tamarack Lodge.
