10 feet of Snow for January, 2010

10 seems like the magic number. 10 feet in 2010. That's the final count of snowfall at Mammoth Mountain ski resort. The town of Mammoth Lakes looks white as can be, and more snow is predicted throughout the month of February including Presidents' Weekend.
Mammoth weather seems to be the news as grooming crews are packing the snow, building new terrain park features and the infamous Super Pipe is operational. Temperatures are warm during the days in the upper 30's - 40's yet the snow remains fluffy and not wet. The best snow is still found in between the trees where fresh rides can be had.
Hello to the guys I met who blasted up from Los Angeles for the day. Yes, you must have chains or 4WD with snow tires. Highway patrol is checking each car before the grade. For the absolute up to the minute
