4th of July in Mammoth

From the hometown parade down Main Street, to the Footloose Freedom Mile Run, Independence Day in Mammoth is one big party. Each year the town of Mammoth Lakes goes all out to create a 4th of July in Mammoth that is a fun family experience... and memorable. This year is no different!. 4th of July activities actually get started on July 1 with the last day of the championship rides in the Mammoth Motocross. July 1 is also a big party in The Village with their Movie Under The Stars. On the 4th, there is a tour of the Fire Station, our annual Lion Club Pancake Breakfast the annual Freedom Mile run sponsored by Footloose... take a breath... and then Pops in the Park a free concert.
Mono County Arts sponsors an annual art festival in the park as well. Grumpy's Restaurant will have their annual Hot Dog Eating Contest and Summer Bash party. The day culminates with fireworks over Crowley Lake at Sunset.
The weeks events continue with another summer movie in The Village (they're free! - bring a blanket!) and then the weekend you can enjoy the Mammoth Lakes Foundation Food and Wine Experience on July 6-7 2012.
It's great to be out of the city and try something new, and you will soon find why families return every year to Mammoth over the 4th of July. It's a great place to be.
