Fishing Season Opens April 25

Mammoth Fishing is on its way. Opening Weekend is a big deal in Mammoth and you are going to want to get your boat out on Crowley Lake to get the first catch and get the first prize from the first fishing derby. Yes, it is that time when fisherman and skiers co-exist. The Mammoth Lake fishing season officially opens on April 25, 2009, but if you're really ready to put your pole in the water, you can find trout fishing season open now! Every year the Department of fish and game, along with Mammoth's own Alpers Trout Farm stock the rivers and streams in Mammoth to make your fishing expedition exciting. Mammoth Lakes has 6 big lakes that you can drive to, and several more that you can only hike to. The best way to see the special "out of the way" lakes is to hire a guide, which you can find in our guide section. Have a great season and see you at the weigh station! Oh and remember our past history... It always snows on the Fishing Season opener! Good Luck
