Mammoth Weather Unbelievable Snow

Snow is falling in Mammoth. The report is for continued snowfall all week long setting up Mammoth Mountain for a spectacular week before Christmas. Whether you call it an El Nino or a Pineapple Express, yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! The report is for 2 -5 feet and we will be updating as the reports change. The conditions for before Christmas just changed over night, and there is good value to be had when traveling Friday 12/19 - 12/26. The town is approaching sold out for all vacations starting on 12/26 except for one bedroom properties.
The groomers at Mammoth are working overtime building the half pipes in the snowboard parks and the snow guns are going strong to help fill in where needed. The new snowfall is definitely getting pushed around to make the most out of Mother Nature. Thank you to all who did their Latin snow dance in honor of El Nino!
The roads are clear, and Cal Trans is doing a great job with the plows. You will need 4WD with Mud-Snow Tires or chains and if you want to make it really an easy drive... bring the 4WD. The temperatures are in the 20's and 30's at present, and it seems mild outdoors when the wind isn't blowing the storms in. Ski the week before December 26 for our best values on lodging and lift tickets, and don't forget to check our promotions section for the least expensive deals to Mammoth.
