WINTER NATURE TOURS
Mammoth Mountain and June Mountain offer nature tours, sponsored by the Forest Service. Some days you may not feel like skiing and boarding hard. Some days
you may not feel like Alberto Tomba or Tommy Czschien, but you still
want to be outdoors. A nice way to spend the day is taking a tour
with a Forest Ranger or Naturalist and see and learn about the neat
geology and fauna that surrounds the ski area. The Inyo Forest is
loaded with cool wonders from the rocks of the Obsidian Dome to
the Inyo Craters. Some of the tours involve putting on your skis
or snowshoes and others don't. Either way it is a great idea when
running the bumps and pipes doesn't sound appealing.
