Kids and adults can enjoy snowmobiles in the forest. Whether you want to have a guided ride, or do a self guided adventure out on your own, riding a snowmobile is an exhilarating experience. There are different kinds of adventures depending on what is right for your family. Whether it be a group ride through the Mammoth forest, or exploring Smokey Bear Flats or just a big open field, renting a Mammoth snowmobile is a great way to top off a vacation. Perfect for the day you check out. Take an early morning ride to be the one to make fresh tracks!
City Concierge offers Mammoth snowmobile rentals with book online reservations. However, due to the unpredictable nature of the snow, we are not currently taking any reservations for 2017-2018. If you would like to be notified, please use our online form and we can contact you when the season opens. With our online service you are able to receive some discounts on your ride, see the calendar of times available and self service at any time. Book your snowmobile rentals well in advance as there is a finite number of rides each day.
Self guide rides start at 1 hour rentals on up to 4 hours in 1/2 hour increments. 2 hours is the norm for most people. The other popular trip is the "family ride". This is where mom and pop take turns on the same bike, giving the kids a ride on the back.
If adventuring off on your own, is not your thing, you can join
a guided snowmobile
tour. With one of the largest trail systems in the Eastern High
Sierra, you can rise from an elevation 7600' up to 9104' and see
some majestic panoramic views. Depending on your tour, you may see
five mountain ranges or ride in one of four huge play areas. There
are several points of interest along the way: Vista Point, Lookout
Mountain, Dry Creek, Bald Mountain Log Cabin Warming Hut, Inyo Craters,
and the Hot Creek Geological Site all easily accessed by snowmobile.
The difference will be the scenery, but the thrill will be the same.
To plan this kind of adventure, you must call Mammoth City Concierge and we will set it up for you. The more notice, the more likely your chances of having this event happen.
The Inyo National Forest offers over 100 miles of groomed snowmobile trails leading to nearly 100,000 acres of varied terrain for off-trail snowmobiling. Terrain from wide open meadows to forested areas, to hills and bowls challenge the beginner and the expert.
The Snowmobile Trails are well marked and as this is snow country, folks ride almost every day.
A real Mammoth snowmobile adventure is waiting. Get on your own "bike" and out on a trail. There are 500 acres of approved trails for you to ride and even for first time, to be out in the open, with the wind in your face on a great Mammoth adventure.
