ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS, Eastern Sierra - August 2007

Lots of news and events to report! If you haven't been to the City Concierge website in awhile, it is all new. We have added Lake Tahoe to our previously all Mammoth site. Both areas are wonderful places to recreate and share the same Eastern Sierra, and Sierra Nevada Mountains and activities. Explore the new site and send us some feedback. Mammoth Wine & MusicMammoth Wine & Jazz Festival
August 17-19, 2007

Big Head Todd and The Monsters and Tito Puente are the 2 big headliners. There will be over 50 wineries pouring wine and you need a pass which is cheaper if you buy it online. There will also be food and art from local artists. This is the 2nd year of the event and it is growing in size Ticket are on sale now.

Squaw Valley- The Village At Squaw6th Annual Brews, Jazz and Funk Festival
August 17-19, 2007

Hosted by The Village At Squaw this Bres, Jazz and Funk festival benefits the Tahoe Truckee Humane Society. There are over 30 unique and well known breweries pouring "suds". The music line up includes Will Bernard Band, Karl Denson, Porter, Batiste & Stoltz (from the Funky Meters), Keith Hollas & the Po Boyz Organ Trio, Trombone Shorty and Orleans Ave. Beer tickets will be on sale for $10 day of the event.

Back for a second year, this event features notable speakers on Heal and Fitness. There will be classes in yoga, Tai chi, along with educational seminars and group activities. For more information, visit the Mammoth Mountain Life and Wellness site.

Lake Tahoe Autumn Food and Wine Festival
September 13 – 16, 2007

Lake Tahoe Marathon
September 30, 2007 The 12th Annual Re/Max Racing for Life 5K is scheduled for Sunday, September 30, after the free Optimist Kids Fun Runs, at 10 a.m. and benefits the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Tahoe Angora Fire Fund. The course starts and finishes at Pope Beach in South Lake Tahoe, California and heads past the historic mansions of the Valhalla Estates. Registration is $50 per participant.
