ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS, Mammoth Mountain Resort
April 2007

You must have heard by now that last week it snowed about 18". This has made everything white again. The best run on 4/1 was top to bottom via Cornice through to St. Anton. Wow! The groomers are doing an amazing job on keeping the hard pack ski-able corduroy. Last year in April we had 4 feet of snow. It might happen! If you haven't done your season pass... the season is now open. Don't wait. This is the value of the year. Fishing Season opens this month as well. Yes, there are streams where you can fish today, but "Mammoth" Fishing Season starts the last Saturday of April if you want the bigger fish. For those of you thinking about a Mammoth holiday this spring and summer, here are the highlights.

Spring Break - Spring Fever Fest!

Spring Break and the living is easy...! Sunny Days and Cool nights. There are lodging specials for your quick trips up. Spring Fest starts on April 16 and runs through the end of May. It is one giant party up in Mammoth. Every weekend is a good weekend. There is live music on the slopes, food and drink specials in town, live bands at the clubs, and a great weekend getaway.

Fishing Season Opener
Saturday, April 28, 2007

This is the official fishing season opener in Mono County. As the weather has been unseasonably warm, and Mr. Winter has been on Summer Vacation, this opener is going to be a great one to be at. While the rumor is that it always snows on the fishing opener, I'd place my bet a bit differently this year! While we know this is a big guys weekend away, how about teaching your son to fish at the opener weekend?

May 22 - 27, 2007

For those who don't know, Mule Days is a hoot! It is an all-American rodeo, food and fun faire for the entire week of Memorial Day annually. This is one day you must include in your long weekend to Mammoth in May. If the snow will stretch, there will be parties, live bands at the clubs, and good fishin'. If you must stay in Bishop here is a great list of hotels that can accommodate you.

MotoCross Madness & Early Summer Season
Motocross is in June, and you should start thinking about how many days you will be here. It is a busy time and fun for both spectators and participants. With our warmer winter will come an early Summer season so you can get started catching our newly stocked lakes with fresh Alpers Trout. Father's Day is the 3rd week of June. Plan on driving up!

4th of July "Block Party"
Wednesday, July 4 - Sunday July 8, 2007
Not only will we have the biggest firework show, but this year the Town is looking at having them shoot from the center of Crowley Lake on a barge! There will be our famous parade, the pancake breakfast, and a whole lot more. It may be "corny" but lots of fun for the whole family. Every one in town is so party happy on the 4th around here.
