Springtime is a fabulous time of year to visit Mammoth Lakes. It provides great skiing and snowshoeing, awesome weather, thawing lakes, and glimpses of wildlife and plant life peaking out from their winter hideaways. A bit of something for everybody. Fishing Season opens this month - finally - for all you eager anglers! We have some great fishing outfitters and guides to "hook" you up with. And there are 127 inches of new snow on the Mountain this past March and a 14 to 16 foot base - superb spring conditions for you folks that want to wring every drop out of this winter snow pack. Even the bird watchers are starting to get their binoculars dusted off! And remember, Passover, April 15, and Easter, April 16 are wonderful, special times to spend with the family in Mammoth. Obviously, we are smack in the middle of a busy Spring Break rush, from mid-March to the end of April, so plan your Mammoth Lakes vacation now so you don’t' find yourself with vacation time to spend and no place to lodge. Book early - Really - weekends are filling up fast. Don't wait to the last minute or drive up without any reservations at all. family ski trips to Mammoth MountainUSSA/ FAR West J4/5 Championships and Master's Finals
Thursday, March 30, to Sunday, April 2
Friday, April 14 to Sunday, April 16

Hey USSA and FAR WEST members of all ages! This April, Mammoth Mountain Race Department will sponsor championship races, master's finals, parties, awards ceremonies, and a great time to ski and hobnob with other ski club members. What a wonderful family event! The SL/GS/SG Disco and Dinner party will be Saturday 4/01. THE awards banquet is on Saturday night, 4/15. Entry fees vary from $7 to $25 per race, depending on age group. Team entries are encouraged. Lift tickets are only $21 for racers, with special discount prices for parents and family members. Be sure to get in on this fun spring season ski club event!

Tamarack Cross Country Ski CenterTour de Taste Cross Country Ski Event
Sunday, April 9

Tamarak Cross Country Ski Center will host the Tour de Taste event. Enjoy springtime cross-country skiing, sampling food from the finest restaurants in town, and beer and wine to top it off! Guaranteed to be a day of delight. Rates are $15.00 per person, plus $10.00 trail passes, and an optional $10.00 rentals for the day, if needed. Food will be served from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Participation is limited, sign up early.

Come enjoy Earth Day in Mammoth, truly a place to celebrate. The Village at Mammoth has planned a fun and delicious Earth Day festival around the theme is "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle." There'll be a pedal push parade, live reggae music, kid's Earth Day corner and activities, organic food sampling, enticing booths, and recycled products. Event goes from 8:00:00 AM to 12:00:00 PM, with music starting at 1 pm.

disabled sports fun for allFirst Annual Disabled Sports Springtacular
Monday, April 24 to Thursday, April 27

Mammoth Mountain and Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra are proud to host this new special event for participants of all ages with cognitive disabilities. The Springtacular week offers 4 days of ski or snowboard instruction, lift tickets, equipment rentals, lunches, a banquet and participation ceremony, and a commemorative t-shirt. Pre-registration is encouraged.

Fishing Season OpensOpening Day of 2006 Fishing Season
Saturday, April 29

It's finally here for all you anglers that have been eyeballing the calendar! Mono County fishing season starts the last Saturday in April. You'll find great trout fishing in our many lakes, rivers and streams, stocked by the Department of Fish and Game (DFG) and world famous trophy-size Alpers Rainbow trout. The Mammoth Lakes Basin (Twin Lakes, Lake Mary, Lake George and Lake Mamie), located above the Town of Mammoth Lakes, offers wonderful angling opportunities for Rainbow, Brook and Brown trout. Other nearby hotspots are Convict Lake, Crowley Lake, and Rock Creek Lake. Be the first to get your pole in the Water!
