Special Events
Trout Season opens this week - Join the fun with the big $10,000 trout giveaway. The Berkley fishing company makers of "Power Bait" are stocking Crowley, June, Convict and a few other lakes with specially tagged trout. If you catch a tagged trout, you win. It is a great way to celebrate the opening of fishing season. We will have all the stocking schedules as they become available. Check our fishing section for details. If you have never had a professional guide service take you to all the right places, you may wish to call the guides listed in our directory to see what they offer. Guides know the backcountry and can take you places where you wouldn't normally go, which means you may get an unbelievable experience with Mother Nature, and your love for fishing.

Activities
Spring Fest In Mammoth Lakes - Yes, it is still going on. There are lots of events happening in and around the Mountain, and the Village. Join us for our spring season as we plan more fun, more parties, more live events, more music, more of everything, including great snow. Check out the lodging specials to help plan your trip. It is snowing again, see the note at the bottom. Canyon Lodge is now closed as is Eagle Lodge, but Main is open and functioning. The hill is pretty empty these days, so take advantage of all the great late season snow and offers. The activities are listed here.

The Village is having a great time this spring. This weekend the Bungee Sky Jump will be there. You can jump and bounce your fanny off. It is really a lot of fun and not nearly as petrifying as bungee jumping from a bridge!

2004 Rail Jam in the VillageAlso in the Village is the Hula sounds of Johnny4ever and Hula Girl Saturday, April 30, 2005 - 2:00:00 PM to 5:00:00 PM. That is if the weather is permitting.

There will also be a Cinco De Mayo Festival on May 5, if you are so inclined to want to eat Tacos, drink Margaritas and our favorite, do Tequila shots.

The following week is the Rail Jam Invitational. This is another great Snowboarding festival event with music. Last year a giant ski jump was set up in the Village and jumpers competed with their airborne tricks. The music was happening and it was all after dark.

Nightlife
Grab The Mic and Do Your Thing at Shogun - Every Saturday, Shogun, known for its great Japanese Sushi has Karaoke night. It is open mic night so pick your favorite tune and let us hear it. Late Night W3 - What is W3? Wild, Wednesday at Whiskey Creek Come join the fun every single Wednesday night. Dancing to the DJ gets started late, and goes late, so plan on coffee for breakfast on Thursdays! Call Whiskey Creek at: 760-934-2555

Our nightlife calendar is here for all the happenings in town and at the Village

Weather UpdateMammoth Mountain Sign
We don't make it a habit of reporting weather in this newsletter but as of 4/28/2005, it was snowing again. It snowed 2 inches over night and at this writing, it was still snowing lightly. The base seems to be holding firm as the morning temperatures are below 30 degrees. This was the scene at the top, right outside the gondola exit. There were only two steps down to the snow, instead of the usual ten.

So as you can see, still plenty of snow. For the fishing folks, it will likely snow on opening day. For everyone else, start thinking about MEMORIAL DAY GETAWAYS. Till next time.
