ACTIVITIES
AND EVENTS, MAY 2006
Looks like we're skiing
until July 4th again this year. But don't wait that long to enjoy all that
Mammoth has going on this month. With the mountain reporting a 15 to 17
foot base and fresh powder, packed powder, and machine-groomed snow, now
is the time to get in some super spring skiing. The weather is awesome -
sunny, clear, and just warm enough to hang with friends outside. Although
the Canyon Lodge and Little Eagle lodges' are now closed, the Main Lodge
stays open through July 4. And there are some great pro-rider competitions
and camps this month on the Mountain. Now for you non-skiers, there's plenty
to do as the weather warms and the trails start to melt out. Most importantly,
the 2006 Fishing Season has begun! Many of the lakes and streams at lower
elevations are in prime condition for early season fishing. Alper's is stocking
Convict Lake, Crowley, and June Lake, so the fishing is bound to be great,
along with some spectacular weather for the whole family to enjoy. Remember
to plan and book your Mammoth Lakes early. Summer weekends are filling up
fast. Don't wait to the last minute or drive up without any reservations
at all. There are so many fun things to do up here, so
check out all the the things to do this month. So when ya drivin' up?
Convict

fish and there will be prizes for largest fish between listed dates. Check
out the City Concierge Fisherman's Special if you're planning to catch
