ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS, JULY 2006

Summer happenings in Mammoth are in full swing - from tennis tournaments to jazz festivals to Fourth of July celebrations. That's just to top-off the already fabulous fishing, golfing, hiking, biking, and camping opportunities. The higher elevations trails, lakes, and streams are opening up and starting to pop with incredible wildflowers. And the town is alive with cultural and family events. All beneath that crystal-clear starry skiscape. First, the town's big Fourth of July celebration is brings four days of non-stop fun. Then there's the annual Jazz Jubilee, along with the Mean Mountain Run Motorcycle Festival. And the Mammoth Tennis Classic follows that, with Bluesapalooza & Festival of Beers just round the corner. With so much to do in Mammoth - how can you not come up! So, please, be sure to plan and book your Mammoth Lakes vacation early - make certain there's a condo for you. 4th of July In Mammoth Four Days of the Fourth Hometown Celebration
Friday July 1 - Tuesday July 4

There's nothing like watching fireworks over the Sierra Nevada. The Chamber has their Fun Fair in Mammoth Creek Park on Saturday and Sunday. The Town has the Parade, and Pancake Breakfast. The Village at Mammoth is showing off the 4th of July with four days of too much fun! There'll be live music and dancing, carnival activities, ice cream and homemade pie eating contests, the Food and Beer Garden, the first annual Little Miss and Mister Mammoth pageant, and fireworks at dusk. And don't miss the Mammoth Lakes Independence Day Spectacular July 4th Fireworks at Crowley Lake. Celebrate from noon 'till after dark.

Mean Mountain RunMean Mountain Run Motorcycle Festival
Friday, July 7 - Sunday, July 9

Rev up your bikes, put on your leathers, and come on up to the mountains for the Mean Mountain Run Motorcycle rally, with live entertainment, vendors, a poker run, stunt shows, a ride n show, great food, and fun for the whole family. What a great excuse for a road trip! Located at the Sierra Nevada Rodeway Inn Pavilion Lot.

Once again, hot music will fill the cool pines at this year's annual Mammoth Lakes Jazz Jubilee. Come and enjoy five days of great musicians - from near and afar - with fine jazz, swinging Big Band, cool standards, and the always-favorite New Orleans Dixieland. There'll be plenty of great food, brews, and new friends to enjoy.

Mammoth Lakes Tennis TournamentMammoth Classic Tennis Tournament

How's your backhand this summer? The Snowcreek Athletic Club is hosting the Mammoth Classic Tennis Tournament. Open entrance is limited to two events per person. Give it a swing. And remember, the annual Jazz Jubilee will be going on during the tournament. Entrance Fee is $40-$55. NTRP 3.0.51.0 and one age group event 50+.

Bring your dancin' shoes 'cause the blues will be rockin' Mammoth at the 11th Annual Bluesapalooza & Festival of Beers, located at Sam's Wood Site. Happenings include The Blues BBQ Friday night and the Grand Tasting and Bluesapalooza concerts all day Saturday. This year's main headliners are Robben Ford, Joe Louis Walker, Savoy Brown, and other sizzlin' blues artists.
