Come on Cool off in Mammoth. We are the best thing going, especially if you want to beat the heat of Southern California. August is busy with different activities happening almost every day. For kids there are skate camps, acting workshops, soccer camps and tennis, and for adults... fishing, golf, hiking, so much. . Here a couple of the big ones. So when ya drivin' up?

Art ala Carte Wine and Art Festival - Saturday - Sunday, August 20-21, 2005
Art ala Carte, Mammoth August 20-12, 2005Every year visitors and friends collect in Mammoth Creek Park for the annual "Art ala Carte" festival. Featuring local artists, wine from California vineyards, and food from our own local restaurants.

This year the park will fill with music and 15 different wineries featuring over 75 varieties of wine. The Mammoth Brewing Company will be serving its famous brew 3 different ways, and Chart House, Petras, Coco Locos, Lakanuki, Breakfast Club, and Ocean Harvest will fill your tummy with good eats. The event starts at 10:00AM with wine being poured at 11:00. The event runs till 5:00 PM and this year is sponsored by the Mammoth Community Foundation and the Town of Mammoth Lakes.

 

Mammoth Lakes Million Dollar Troutstock - Labor Day - September 3, 4, 5
You got to get hooked on this one! The town of Mammoth Lakes is giving away one million dollars! That's right , one million dollars is up for grabs in the Mammoth Lakes basin over Labor Day Weekend! Specially tagged trout will be placed in our lakes over Labor Day weekend. If you catch one, you not only walk home with an automatic prize, but you get a chance at the million dollars.

Besides free live entertainment, kids fishing games, a fine arts festival, a kids trout pond, and trout cooking demonstrations, there is so much more.
