ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS, December2006

Ok so the ski area is officially open, and the even bigger news, that in spite of the general lack of fresh snow, Canyon Lodge opens on December 9. Thankfully the Mammoth Mountain grooming squad, once again had the foresight to line our favorite runs with snow guns. So while the snow gods have not been dancing in our favor, the cold climate has been extremely favorable and more runs open every day with lots of fresh crisp powder.

There are still plenty of smaller units available for the Holidays, but you better hurry up, because it is starting to get slim pickens. Use this form to book your CHRISTMAS WEEK LODGING, Remeber from last year, snooze you lose. As a reminder Martin Luther King Holiday January 11-15, 2007 can be booked online, however President's holiday February 2/14-2/19, 2007 has to use the PRESIDENTS' DAY RESERVE FORM.

Need a Christmas Tree or Holiday decorations in your condo? This year we can also decorate the inside of your condo to make it a very special Holiday. In conjunction with BLOOMS AND BRIDES, you can have your Christmas Condo, but please book this service early since everything is hand made.


Volcom Peanut Butter Jam

The Peanut Butter and Rail Jam is Volcom Stone's amateur snowboard series. Instead of having three rails in a row, we put them side by side to create a rail zone. The contest runs in a jam format. When we say jam, we mean a real jam where there are no rules. You can hit the rails as many times as you want, and in whatever order you choose. There are two divisions, 16 and under and 17 and over. The event is absolutely free, on a first come first serve basis, and boasts tons of free prizes and food. Everyone who enters walks away with something, so show up early to ensure you get in and enjoy a great day of snow and heaping peanut butter and jam sandwiches. Registration will be located on the 3rd floor of the Main Lodge. .

June Mountain Opening Day
December 16, 2006

Yes, June Mountain looks to open just in time for the Winter Holiday ski season. Lift Tickets are only $60.00 for an adult ticket, and the ski area is set up with a large percentage of great family runs, as well as the terrain parks for the boarders. Get away from the crowds at June. The mountain has 35 different runs, 7 lifts, 2 terrain parks, 1 super pipe and is 35% beginner, 45% intermediate, and 20% advanced rated runs with the longest being 2.5 miles. And... it boasts 70% sunny days of the year. Open from December to April

Martin Luther King & Presidents' Day Holidys Update
Martin Luther King is a national holiday celebrated on Monday January 15, 2007. For Mammoth there will be a 3 night minimum the weekend before from January 11-15, 2007. Presidents' Holiday is Celebrated on Monday, February 19, 2007 and is celebrated as a 4 night minimum starting Thursday February 15, 2007. Please plan now as both are sold out weekends.
