Happy Hanukkah - Sat December 20
Hanukkah is an eight day celebration also known as the festival of lights. It commemorates a historic biblical event, when the temple "eternal light", a sign of devotion, burned miraculously for eight days when there was only enough oil to last for one. That's why the celebration lasts for eight days. Gift giving is optional, but eating a potato pancake is mandatory. Anyone in town got latkes?

Are you a "In the car super star?" Karaoke every Tuesday and Saturday at Shogun. Located at the Sierra Center Mall on Old Mammoth Road, the karaoke machine has over 1800 songs. With a few libations from their full service bar you may even sound better. Join the fun, you may surprise yourself how great you sound.

Smokey Flats Sledding

Just outside of town is Smokey Bear Flats, the best place to go sledding since there are no trees. Grab a plastic saucer, sled, toboggan or cardboard box and have some fun. You can't miss it, since it is noticeably missing trees.

Race for Fun, It Is A Hoot
The Westwood Ski Club races every month at Mammoth. It is adult amateur racing, against other ski clubs. You race in a class with people your own age and ability, so you actually stand a chance of winning. And, it's very addicting! Come give it a try. Call Scott Peer at: 818-500-0488

Ralphie's Ski Race Derby Sat January 3 - January 4
The USSA and Far West sponsor this event at Mammoth every year which is a Slalom. If you want to race, call the Westwood Ski Club to find out how you can participate. They are happy to have first timers, and you only race against people your own ability a Call Scott Peer at: 818-500-0488
