| Lee Vining is the city just at the gates of Yosemite on the Eastern Sierra side of the park. It is a small quaint little town, so hotels in Lee Vining are also small and quaint. You might stop in Lee Vining on your way to June Mountain in June Lake. If you're coming from Southern California you may want to make a pit stop atMammoth Mountain. Mammoth has a lot of nice places to stay, and often people will stay in Mammoth rather than in one of the smaller towns since there is so much more to do.
