Olympic Valley is the home of Squaw Valley ski resort and the 1960 Olympic Games. The torches still line the entrance to the resort to remind us that this was one of the first times the winter Olympics were held in California. The Squaw Valley hotels are located just outside of Tahoe City CA and nearby Truckee and the Truckee River.
There is no "Squaw Valley, California" so all Squaw Valley Hotels are actually here in Olympic Valley. The nicer hotels in Squaw Valley are right at the base of the ski resort in The Squaw Village. Here you?ll be able to have your choice of restaurants and get plenty of shopping.
