Oktoberfest in Big Bear

As the weather chills in Big bear after the beautiful summer and the music festivals end, everyone gets excited for the biggest festival of the year Oktoberfest. The Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest begins in September and runs through the end of October. October is the time when everyone goes so is considered the peak of the event. For Adults only the weekends are the most popular. For families with kids, Sundays in Big Bear are family day with free admission for children 12 and under.

As October is the busy weekend time, purchasing your lodging and especially tickets prior to the event is essential. The best Big Bear cabins for rent near Oktoberfest would be in the communities of "Fox Farm" and "Moonridge". They are closest to the convention center event grounds and also near Bear Mountain resort.

Tickets are on sale now and can be pre-purchased for all the weekends. If you are coming to Oktoberfest in October, we do recommend you pre-purchase tickets. Pre-purchased ticket holders always receive “Priority Entry” and are limited so shop early! You will want to check out the schedule of events for Octoberfest for this year.

To make things easy, there are "Burgermeister Bucks" available so you don't have to wait in line. These are not tickets for a hamburger, but for a bier brew and food items at the German Kitchen, the new Food Court and the Sports Park Grill. They can also be used to purchase all beverages (including beer, wine, soft drinks, coffee, etc.). Bier Booklets are books of 10 beer tickets and is one way to save you time once you’re here.

While in Big Bear, you'll also want to check out the rest of the town and go exploring. The Discovery Center is a great black to visit while you're up around the lake. They have wonderful nature tours and kid friendly activities. Also, you can still play golf, fish and of course hike. We know you'll be headed here for the bier, the brews, the music and the hooplah, but don't miss out, there is so much to do in Big Bear, you'll want to make it a long weekend.
