Mammoth Weather, Snow Falls
The snow began to fall and before you know it, the autumn turned to winter, so everyone is very thankful! The National Weather service has predicted more snow with this storm. The air temperature today was cold and windy, and we could see the storm clouds blow in. The skiing for Thanksgiving weekend is predicted to be remarkably good considering the lack of snow.
The snow-making has been on Broadway chair 1, Face Lift chair 3 back and front, Stump Alley, Forest Trail, Mambo, the 3 race runs and Cornice is open so you can go top to bottom. There are no rocks visible on the trails, and the conditions are very hard packed with the man-made (and now fresh) snow on top. Everyone is having a great time, and for early season skiing, pretty darn good. When asking skiers if it was worth the drive... "you bet!". This is an especially good time for pass holders to come on up and get away from the city.
