Mammoth is Open for Summer and Winter Vacations
Mammoth Lakes is excited to reopen after being dramatically shut down due to the coronavirus. The Mountain Bike Park opened on June 25 and all systems are go. Winter is well underway for all the skiers and both the lodging providers and the ski area are working to make sure all our guests can have a great experience no matter what time period they travel.
While our name is Mammoth, the town is quite small so our community is very important to us. The mountain bike park is currently in operation, the lakes are open for fishing as is the hiking trails. Be aware, the town has much stricter requirements than the State of California, so masks are required at all times even when outdoors. Yes, that means on hiking trails, on the rides, and about town.
The professional lodging providers are booking up fast for this summer as well as for winter. Most are offering a 100% refund no matter what there standard policy is, if the town of Mammoth shuts down as it did in March. Those that have Ikon Passes, you can check their website for how lift tickets and passes are being handled, but if we can keep C-19 out of town, we'll be open.
We're looking at finding that "new normal" amidst this unprecedented time. We know you're with us, so let's do this together. Call one of our concierges if you need help planning your vacation. You'll love the personal service.
We are looking at winter 2020. The town will be open. The Mammoth Mountain ski area is looking at ways to be open. While they haven't given the official word, rumor is that they are planning on opening with a few limitations as California "stay at home" orders will likely still be in place. This could mean some relocation of services such as food and drink to outdoors, modify what can be done in the lodges, and other ancillary services such as rentals. Either way, City Concierge is offering all our lodging guests 100% refunds if the ski area does not open, or closes midway through the season due to Covid. Ask your concierge about all the news.
